PROGRAMMES FOR PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN THE HOME AND THE SCHOOL IN CHILD UPBRINGING

Our programme for the desirable partnership between the home and the school in child upbringing covers some fundamentals of child psychology, some steps that parents must take with the child in the home, some of the distractors on the part of children, parents and teachers and the scheme by which the activities of the home can be dovetailed into those of the school for optimum outcomes. Attention is also paid to disciplined use of the internet and technological gadgets as well as the regretful tendency among parents and teachers to delegate too much of their responsibility to subordinates.

It is emphasized, throughout, that child upbringing starts with the parents. The child begins life in the womb of the mother and spends the most foundational years with the parents. There are steps they must take to make that foundation very robust. The school and other institutions of socialization (such as the Church) could only complement the home. The social upheavals experienced today reflect the negligence and lack of synergy between the home, the school and other social institutions. Not much can change until all parties (including all levels of government) take responsibility and pursue fruitful partnership.

There are modules for members of societies and clubs; for parents, teachers and counselors of individual schools as well as for open enrolment. Hosting options depend on participants’ profile, numbers and location.
